Challenge
Create three different posters designs for the band American Football, Promoting their new album LP4 and their tour. Each poster needs to be creative and distinct, while still reflecting the overall tone of the album, honest, emotional, and a little emo.
Solution
The posters were designed with a monochromatic color palette, to create eye catching piece that easily related to LP4's cover design. Images from the tour were then used as the subject of these posters, but were edited in a style with deep contrasting shadows, bold red highlights, imperfect lines, and hand drawn celestial elements. Each of these elements reflect the dark artistic nature of the album.
Bold typography and illustrative elements were intertwined in the designs. Calligraphic type paired with a bold sans-serif to give a sophisticated and personal touch to the posters, as well as illustrations based on the songs lyrics to create a unique layered piece.
