Challenge

Craft the visuals for a story that honors a loved one of the authors who passed away. While also highlighting the passion and support a small gesture can unknowingly cause.

Solution

The overall design and illustration are meant to feel warm and comforting. With rounded soft typography, bright colors, and wholesome characters.

  • Characters are designed to look familiar, safe, and trusting, so that everyone is able to relate and identify with them.

  • The overall illustration style is very cherry and friendly, with a vibrant color scheme, floral motifs, lively backgrounds and characters.

  • The typography takes on a hand written look, making the story more approachable for children while also maintaining its legibiltiy.
