Challenge

Capture the overall look, feel, and mood of the world of Hyrule while still portraying it in a unique and authentic fashion.

Solution

Each poster takes on a monochromatic look that symbolizes the tone of the area it represents. It also display an iconic landmark that's immediately recognizable to anyone who has ever interacted with the Legend of Zelda series.

  • Hebra: A cool tone purple palette to represent its winter climate, and the focal point of the poster is the heart rock formation above Rito Village.

  • Hyrule: Takes on a dark red palette which portrays the overall feeling of central Hyrule throughout the game: dark, dreary, and sinister. This poster also showcases the main villain of the game as the focal point, which naturally makes this poster displayed in the middle of the series.

  • Eldin: A very warm palette is used in this poster to represent the volcanic nature of Eldin. Although a beautiful and picturesque area, it's also a monuments and treacherous area to explore, so the illustration represents the scale of this, having two small characters navigating the area.
