Challenge
Design a Senior Show that goes against what all previous show had done. A show that didn't focus on the end product, that wasn't about pristine and clean designs, but the designer themselves.



Solution
With “Against the grain” as the creative logic, we built the show in layers:
We focused on process and what goes on behind every beautiful project. Showing what happens in a designers head, the process of designing rather than the design itself.
Sketches, mistakes, irregularities became welcome design aspects and motifs that were used throughout.
The overall branding took on a grunge look, with multiple typefaces being collaged together to create the logo and other brand elements.
Sketchy lines, grid systems, and brush strokes were all things that were used to create this look and push the overall message of the show.
Impact
The 2025 Senior Show ended up being a massive success:
The show won three awards: Gold Addy, Silver Addy, and Addy Judges Choice Award.
Hundreds of visitors showed up to support the graduating class and look through the show.
Past students and faculty remarked on the overall design of the show, saying how much they loved the aesthetic, design, and attitude of the show.
